The flute excerpt from Debussy’s tone poem Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun) is one of the most popular excerpts and is called for on nearly every audition. As such, even if you’re not actively seeking to take auditions, I highly recommend learning this excerpt and keeping it under your fingers……
